It is always a joy to see believers obey the Word of God. New believers that have just trusted Christ need to be scripturally baptized (Acts 2:41). The scriptural mode of baptism is immersion in water (Acts 8:38-39). Your baptism identifies you with Jesus Christ (Romans 6:3-6) by representing the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. It is a 'figure' or picture of identification (1 Peter3:21). Baptism lets others know you have been saved but baptism does not save you or have any part in washing away your sins. It is like your wedding ring; your wedding ring doesn't make you married, otherwise if you take off your ring you are not married. But your wedding ring lets others know you are married. If you were baptized before you were truly saved then you should now be scripturally baptized because it had no meaning before salvation.

Ask an usher to speak with Michael and Tiffany Calhoun about being baptized. We will baptize at the close of any service but normally baptize at the close of Sunday evening services.
