- Second Baptist Church of Riverdale was established. Through the years the lord sent many good pastors to lead this church.

- Pastor Hopkins became pastor. 50 voting members. 30 members present the Sunday before He came. The church had 3.8 acres.

- The first year at RSBC the Lord blessed us with 143 people saved, 49 people baptized, and 103 people joined the church. This first year proved to our people that God was still on the throne and will bless and build His church!

- Pastor Hopkins preaches on “Walking On The Water” on Wednesday June 19 and afterwards tells the congregation God has dealt with his heart about moving the church farther south, selling the current facility and building a new church. “We can settle as a church to just survive, or we can follow God and thrive for His glory!” Two weeks later the church voted overwhelmingly to step out on faith and follow God.

- Found 18 acres on Peeksville Road in Locust Grove for sale, secured a loan and closed on the property on Nov 6. During that summer we had two Super Sunday Night Services in Locust Grove for the first time to introduce ourselves to the community. They were so successful we began having all of our Sunday night services in Locust Grove while still having Sunday morning and Wednesday night in Riverdale. We also started going soul-winning every Saturday in Locust Grove. We hired our first full-time assistant pastor, Nick Tharington, to work with our teenagers and coeds.

- Charter Member Service, March 14, 144 charter members. We are holding all of our church services in Locust Grove! We secured a place to meet temporarily in the Metro Auction Barn until the new facilities were finished. The owners held auctions there on Friday and Saturday nights. Our people came early Sunday morning and cleaned up, put out rolls of carpet, chairs, sound equipment, electric fans in the summer and propane heaters in the winter. We put it all back into a metal container after every Wednesday night service and did it all again the next Sunday. The Red Roof Inn allowed us to use their swimming pool every weekend to baptize new converts. We had our ground breaking service for the new church at the Peeksville Road property in June.

- Our first Sunday in new building was May 29. That fall we started Heritage Baptist Christian School with grades K2-2nd grade and had 26 students enrolled. The teachers worked all year with no salary to help start the school. People are visiting every week to see the 'new church" but many are getting saved and joining our church.

- As of January 25 we are having many souls saved and have 288 church members. HBCS is adding a grade a year so we have K2-3rd this year and have 68 students enrolled.

- On January 1 we continue to see souls saved and have 399 church members. We built a pavilion for fellowship next to the church and also built four more rooms for Sunday School and future HBCS. The Lord blessed us to buy 10 acres of land which joins our church property and brings the total acreage to 28 acres. The school has 97 enrolled this year.

- As of January 1 we have 472 church members and God is still in the saving business. Plans are being made for the next phase of building which will include a fellowship hall and a gym/educational building. On March 23, Easter Sunday, our attendance was 551 the most we have had in the new building..."and yet there is room." The Lord blessed us to purchase 9 more acres of land that connect to the original 18 and the 10 acres we purchased last year. This land also gives us road frontage on South Ola Road which will help traffic flow on the property in the future. We now have 37 acres to use for the Lord!

April 27th, 2008 - The Lord blessed us on FRIEND DAY to have 619 people on the property with several people saved and another two families join the church. This was another 'attendance breaker' for Heritage Baptist Church thanks to the prayers and hard work of Gods people..."Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled." Luke 14:23. HBCS began the school year in September with 117 enrolled students and we now go through 4th grade.

- As of January 1 the Lord just keeps on blessing and we have 561 members with many more people saved and baptized. God is better to us than we deserve. In November we hired a civil engineer to begin conceptual plans for the entire property and especially the gym/educational building which will be the next phase of our building process. We also started our new ministry for ages 8-12 on Sunday Mornings called 'Mega Church' in October and had 36 to get saved in the last three months of this year! We had 712 on Super Sunday this fall with many saved which gave us our largest attendance ever. (Just more people to influence for Jesus Christ!)

- As of February 7 we now have 630 church members and we are more excited about the work of God than ever before. In June we purchased a house and 3.75 acres next door to the church to to use as a Mission House for missionaries and preachers. We are implementing a strong discipleship training for all our members to help them grow in the Lord and still believe the best is yet to come!

August, 2010- This month we will open classes for the first time to Heritage Baptist Bible College. This new ministry of Heritage Baptist Church will enable anyone with a desire to learn the Word of God to get a Bible education. Our pastor thinks that Bible college should not just be available to a few young people that can afford it but everyone in the church should have access and now they do! Right now tuition is FREE and you simply pay your registration fees and your books. Classes are held on Monday and Tuesday nights from 6:30 till 9:30.

- As of February 3 the Lord has been kind to us and we have 679 church members. The church agreed to go forward with starting the preliminary drawings on the gym/educational building. Our emphasis is always soul-winning and helping our members to grow in the Lord. We have 4 bus routes picking up children in our area and see many saved every week. Thank God for the Bus Ministry!
