Pastor's Vision PDF Print E-mail

As pastor, my vision for every member of Heritage Baptist Church is for them to grow in the grace and in the knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Heritage Baptist church will continue to thrive because of our emphasis on Bible preaching, Bible teaching and soul-winning. Everything we are doing now was at one time part of the vision God has given me for this church. If God could take us from where we were to where we are now and do all of this, I can't wait to see what He does in the future!

Here are some of the things we are praying for and trusting God by faith to do.

Purchase Property

The church already has a land fund that people give towards every week for 7 acres to the left of our church on Peeksville Road. This land has not been put up for sale. Pray for the owners to sell us this land. This would bring our total acreage purchased to 44 acres.

Develop property

We have hired a civil engineer to develop a master site plan with future parking, roads, storm drain, septic, and approximate locations of buildings, restrooms, pavilions, parks, ball fields, and all other structures. The first step will be building the main road from South Ola to the back of the original 18 acres.

Fellowship Hall/Gym/Educational Center

We are in the planning stage and will break ground on this building (Lord willing) in the summer of 2012. The goal is to have it ready for the school year of 2013. Most of Heritage Baptist Christian School will relocate from our current facility to the new building. The gym will provide an exceptional place for large teen meetings, revival meetings and sports. All of our church will enjoy good times of food and fellowship in the 90 X 90 Fellowship Hall.

Expansion of the Educational Center

The concrete floor in the gym will be reinforced so that we can build an entire second floor of classrooms over the gym floor and leave the bottom floor dedicated for cafeteria since the kitchen is located there. We will build another gym onto the other half of our future church expansion.

Widows Housing

We have widows that are only cared for by our church family. I want us to build a tri-plex or quadra-plex for widows to live in and to house missionaries on deputation and preachers who preach for us. We have already purchased a house and 3.5 acres next to our church and use it as a Mission House.

Amphitheatre

There is a natural ravine behind our church. This would be a perfect place to build an amphitheatre for large teen meetings or revivals. Also, it would be a wonderful place for good gospel singing.

Independent Baptist Missions Supply

I believe in starting independent baptist churches across America and throughout the world. New churches need basic supplies like song books, chairs, and sound equipment. Heritage Baptist Church could secure or build a warehouse. Churches could buy or donate these items, we could keep them in this central location and give them to men starting new churches. When they build new facilities they could return the items to be used by someone else.

Heritage Printing Ministry

A man in our church owns a printing company with all the equipment and when he retires he wants to give the business to the church. We can print high quality church material, gospel tracts, books, study helps, and much more.

Additional Auditorium Seating

Our sanctuary has a balcony level where we built Sunday School classes. We will tear the classes down, build risers and add about 340 more seats bringing the total seating capacity in the sanctuary to over 1000!

Double the Building Size

Our church facility was made to mirror image itself which would double the number of classrooms we could use and take the sanctuary from 1,000 to 2,000 seating capacity! I believe God can use us to reach at least this many. Why settle for 100 when the Lord could help you reach 1,000. Why settle for 1,000 then God could help you reach 10,000!

Build a Staff of Faithful, Like-minded Servants of God

As the church grows the Lord will raise up people in our church to serve the Lord in a full time capacity on staff. He will also send people to our church from other ministries to serve with us. We need people who can disciple other Christians so they can later do the same with other Christians. Pray for the Lord to make provision for this to happen and for me to have the wisdom to hire right.

Church Workers Conference

There are plenty of 'pastors schools' for people to attend. I pray the Lord will allow us to have a conference to encourage, educate, and excite church worker to be faithful servants in their church and to back and follow their pastor. We will give practical, helpful instruction that will strengthen the workers in their ministry. We could bring in church leaders who have done it and are doing it to instruct and answer questions about different ministries in the church.

Children, Teens and College Students

I want every one of our young people to have a heart for God and an appreciation and participation in old time worship. It is not acceptable to lose even one young person to the world. I want to create an atmosphere where Christ can work in the hearts and lives of young people and they can begin at an early age to really love and serve God. I want there to be a strong emphasis on children 5-12 years old. we must reach, train, and instill in the hearts and minds of the young people a love for God, Gods work, and Gods will. We cannot miss this window in their lives when they are so receptive to the word of God.
