“I thank my God upon every remembrance of you, Always in every prayer of mine for you all making request with joy,” Philippians 1:3-4
I wanted to tell you and your family what a blessing you are to me and my family. God always sends us the best and all of you prove that. I was excited 11 years ago when I became the pastor of Heritage Baptist Church (formerly named Riverdale Second Baptist Church), but I could never have anticipated how many wonderful people God would allow me to cross paths with and then let us serve Him together. Every one of you has a special place in my heart and it is my privilege to get to be your pastor. Melissa and I share your joys and your sorrows, your burdens and your blessings and we both pray for you and want to encourage you in every way we can. I want to ask you and your family to purpose in your heart to be faithful to the Lord in your church attendance and personal growth in the Lord. The Bible tells us “But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ;” 2 Peter 3:18b. Every time you come to church and hear the preaching and teaching of God’s word you are giving yourself an opportunity to grow in the Lord. Being around other spiritual people will help your spiritual growth. Serving Christ through ministering to others also helps you grow spiritually. Jesus desires and deserves our very best. I believe God could make this the best year of your Christian life. Our family is truly blessed to be a part of your lives at Heritage Baptist Church. I love all of you greatly and look forward to all that God will do in our lives this year and in the years to come as we seek to please Him!
Your friend and pastor,
Terrell Hopkins
“That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man; That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love, May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height; And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God. Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us, Unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen.” Ephesians 3:16-21 |
